CASE STUDIES
From time to time the ECSA publishes Case Studies and Alerts on engineering-related matters. The ECSA has prepared these case studies arising from the contravention of the ECSA’s Rules of Conduct for Registered Persons. The intent of these case studies is to serve as a source of information and education for the engineering profession. These case studies are offered to the engineering fraternity as advisory notes to minimise the risk of recurrence.
The following Case Studies have been published:
Case Study 2012-1 The consequences of the collapse of portion of a three storey office block structure
Case Study 2012-2 The Design flaws leading to demolition of a reinforced concrete flat slab
.
Case Study 2012-3 Inadequate design and lack of monitoring of erection leading to collapse of a staircase
Case Study 2012-4 Collapse of a structure arising from faulty welding of steelwork
Case Study 2012-5 Extreme implications, from contravention of ECSA’s Rules of Conduct on a small project
